This webinar, held in recognition of World Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Awareness Week, will feature critical new research from the "One Health" VSI, published in ISAC journal, the International Journal of Antimicrobial Resistance. The session will spotlight studies addressing AMR in humans and animals, its transmission through the environment, and integrated One Health surveillance and management strategies aimed at controlling AMR.

Dr Reema SinghDr Reema Singh is a Bioinformatician and Data Manager at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization, University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Dr Singh works on large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets to revolutionize the understanding of various human and animal pathogens. Dr Singh has generated a database “Dlact” which consists of 2020 ß-lactamases from 457 bacterial strains which were further classified using graph-based clustering of best-bidirectional hits to identify the group-specific signature of ß-lactamases. Dr Singh has also developed a computational pipeline, called Gen2Epi, to assemble short-reads into full genomes and automatically assign molecular epidemiological and AMR information to the assembled genomes.See More

Prof. Yonghong XiaoYonghong Xiao, MD, PhD, is a Professor and Principal Investigator, currently serving as Vice-Director of the State Key Laboratory of Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases at the First Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University. He also served as Guest Editor for the One Health Special Issue in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents (IJAA).
