Cucumber Recall Sparks Salmonella Warning in 26 States and Parts of Canada

News

Abstract

A cucumber recall has sparked a salmonella warning across 26 states and parts of Canada, with health officials urging consumers to check their refrigerators for the potentially contaminated vegetables. The recall was initiated by Fresh Start Produce Sales Inc. of Delray, Florida, due to the potential contamination of its cucumbers with salmonella, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
