Abstract
Updated USPSTF recommendations on syphillis screening in pregnancy align with the previous 2018 guidelines. Syphilis cases are at a 30-year high despite widespread adoption of screening guidelines. Editorialists challenge whether current recommendations are enough amid rising syphilis cases. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) renewed its recommendation for early and universal screening for syphilis during pregnancy.
