Abstract
A 2022 review evaluating the global magnitude of encephalitis burden concluded that low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs) had the highest age-standardised incidence rate worldwide (31·63 per 100 000 compared with 6·17 per 100 000 in high-income countries).
