Abstract

For people undergoing treatment for cancer, who are at greater risk of infection, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) could have serious repercussions, as bacteria can become resistant to antibiotics over time. While undergoing treatment for lymphoma, antibiotics saved Kristin's life when she developed neutropenic sepsis, a life-threatening complication of some cancer treatments that can lead to overwhelming infection.
