Abstract
A 78-year-old fisherman from Worli, Mumbai, suffered a severe Vibrio vulnificus infection, a rare flesh-eating bacteria, leading to the amputation of part of his left foot. Doctors at Wockhardt Hospital treated him for 20 days, noting he was in septic shock upon arrival. The infection, likely from a minor injury during fishing, spread rapidly.
