Abstract
Bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics are a major and growing challenge. A recent study in The Lancet showed that 4.7 million deaths globally were associated with resistant bacteria in 2021. Projections exceed 8 million annually by 2050. The development is alarming. I am therefore pleased that Denmark has just adopted a new national action plan in this area. Denmark is in a strong position, and we must leverage this to contribute to effective solutions and lead the way internationally. One
